How do I join #lurk? |
| The first thing you need is an irc client. The most popular
for Windows are mIRC and X-Chat. If you
run Mac OS X, X-Chat Aqua is recommended. If you
are new to IRC you might find this page helpful. Also
familiarize yourself with IRC commands. The next thing
you need to do is connect to the appropriate IRC server. #Lurk resides on the
IRCHighway network. If you have
installed an IRC client your browser should now respond to irc:// links. If not restart
your web browser. If this still doesn't work, just load up your IRC client and type in
/server irc.irchighway.net and press enter. Your client will try to connect. Your connection will
be confirmed by the appearance of the server MOTD. You will have to register your nickname in order
to join #lurk. This topic posted on
our forums goes into great detail on how to do this. When you have registered your nickname
you may now join #lurk, to do this enter the command /join #lurk |
Why do I keep getting disconnected everytime I join #lurk? |
| If you are getting disconnected from the IRC server with a SendQ exceeded message
you will have change some of your IRC client settings. For mIRC please follow these instructions. For X-Chat please
type /set irc_who_join 0 before joining #lurk. You should only have to do this once. |
What are the official rules of #lurk? |
